Agile City is a non-profit community interest that creates space for work, events and learning.

The project seeks to convert Civic House, an early 20th century printing press, into a canteen, workspace and venue for Speirs Locks in north Glasgow. A core principle of the building’s development is to create a leading example of carbon reduction innovation and create Scotland’s first retrofit ‘PassivWareHaus’.

Collective Architecture are providing full architectural and passive house design services for energy refurbishment utilising Passivhaus Planning Package.

The project seeks to demonstrate how our existing building stock can be to a level where by they can produce more energy than they consume. The project is being developed in stages with works to the roof completed in 2019 and a 50kW PV array installed in early 2020. Tender for the External wall insulation, windows and heat recovery ventilation system are currently being finalised.
